=), I just got this sword last night this is the first in my collection and i am extremely impressed not part of this sword is plastic, pure metal and and the leather hilt, the sword is not sharp but i dont care because i can easily sharpen it and it looks extremely sharp which makes for a great display this is a MUST for a collector who is into barbarian, fantasy or historical swords and for any 300 fan I LOVE THIS SWORD but since i am currently an amatuer sword collector this is an amatuer opinion on waht makes for a good sword but for now this is DEFINEATLY a 5 star. I wouldn't call it that, it is slightly less wide than where the blade goes through the hilt but that is of necessity due to the handle design. This one is heavy, looks like an rough iron sword from the time period, and matches the movie version very closely. The pleather grip was very loose and unwinded within a few minutes of swinging. The edge required some sharpening, but an Accusharp or axe grinder can fix that. I bought two of these beasts. All and all, it's really cool conversation and collector piece I would highly recommend. everything feels, looks, and is solid..the picture does not give the blade itself justice, all over the sword there are little dents and nicks to give it a rugged look along with the wicked curve of the blade. Really great and really sturdy. also while the top/bottom guard looks great, it doesn't bode well for the actual swing as the bottom guard messes with your wrist as you finish your swing. Simply bad, handle was made with no consideration to the blade , provides little control of weapon. I would not recommend this to anyone. So Great sword! Only thing i found was you have to be careful putting it back into the sheath, the blade will slice right through the leather even before i sharpened it, A nice, hefty, 4.5 pounds of bad-A steel! I was surprised how big and heavy it is. great price, good looker it has a nice heavy blade, i tested the durability of the sword against a tree it took about 10 "wacks" then the handle shook a little bit loose, which brings me back to it being a good looker. It holds an edge surprisingly well considering that even the minimum amount of force exerted on it is quite a bit. Not sharp at all but it doesn't need to be, I would consider it more of a bludgeoning/piercing weapon than a slashing weapon because of the weight and it comes to a nice point. If I spent a couple of hours a day swinging this thing around, I would probably look like Leonidas before long.
Overall this is a very great sword, beautiful and strong, and was delivered quickly . Original Price 311.17 The only 'bad' thing is that the handle was extremely lose, and not just the leather wrap, I mean the 'handle' its self, its full tang, but the wood part was lose. It'll take some modification to make hilt as sturdy as the blade proper. It's perfect for decoration or for a display. Looks good on the wall too :-). But the biggest bonus is the fact that this sword costs less than 30 dollars which makes the 300 Spartan Warrior the best sword value in the market hands down.
